Project definition
The development of a 3D-video production that communicates the characteristics of the Philips 3D WOWvx-technology in image
and message.
Realisation
Adding a third dimension requires a completely new approach of developing a video production. In addition to the information known about width and height, information about depth is also required.
The most logical production technique is the computer animation, with which the information can be perfectly controlled in all dimensions.
In addition to constructed visual components however, the script prescribed live recordings: in a studio, in front of a solid green background, models and even a dog were filmed. Afterwards, animated visual material could digitally replace the background; flower, football and frisbee were drawn with the computer.
Joining realistic video recordings with artificial visual material requires a firm direction and a precision finishing.
While the copywriter derived the ‘messaging’ from the communication objectives that the client defined beforehand, the composition of the music started. Based on a first draft of the video this is precisely tuned to the character of the production and synchronised with the images.
In addition to the one-liners, the copywriter wrote a story for the voice-over that was recorded in the studio.
During the production process patience and empathy are required of the client: It's not until the last part of the production is finished that all components come together and an overall picture of the end presentation is obtained.
